From November 14 to 17, the medical world once again turned its eyes on Duesseldorf: The Medica, the world's largest medical fair, opened in the halls of the North Rhine Westphalian capital's exhibition center, and attracted around 130,000 international visitors. Traditionally this fair is accompanied by the Compamed, one of the most important supplier trade fairs for the medical industry. FRIWO has been among the exhibitors for quite some years to present its medical products. At the outset only plug-in and desktop power supplies were on display, but over the years the scope was expanded by medically approved open-frame power supplies, conventional chargers, inductive charging technology and battery solutions.
With the extensive and optimally matching product portfolio, FRIWO acts as system supplier and offers complete solutions from a single source. In this context FRIWO highlighted its new inductive demonstrator at the Compamed 2016. This novelty illustrates many elements of a possible system solution: power supply, inductive charging technology with data communication, battery solution and intelligent battery management. All of this is embedded in a mobile monitor with detachable stand which also serves as a contactless charging station. The monitor communicates intelligently with user and charger and provides all sorts of information on charging process and battery status (see diagram for the demonstrator's operating principle). This new gadget generated many discussions on possible applications of contactless power transmission in medical technology, from hygienic supply of cordless surgical tools to charging of implanted pacemakers.
Will contactless energy and data transmission also boost your product? You are welcome to sit down with us to discuss approaches and applications.
